We’re not sure who is behind this conspiracy, but another Sunday and another rainout.  This is getting ridiculous.  We apologize to all the ladies who wanted to take advantage of free golf.  We will try again next year.

The golf course and range are closed for the day.

Once again, as is our tradition, all ladies will golf for free on Mother’s Day.  No catch – no need to pay for a cart, bring a paying guest, etc, etc.

What better gift for Mom than spending 3.5 hours of quality time with her?

Please make a tee time to take advantage of this offer!
No rain checks or postponing, this is a one shot deal on May 12, 2019.

Unfortunately it’s that time of year again. We are aerating greens on Wednesday, April 24. The cost to play will be $18 to walk or $23 to ride. You must skip the holes we are working on but you can play additional holes to complete your 18 hole round.

We apologize for the inconvenience. It’s no fun for us either!

The disruption should not be lasting. We are pulling a relatively small 1/2″ core and filling the holes with sand. The surface should be relatively smooth soon after we are done.

Thank you to everyone who played in the Masters Tournament!

Things were a little chaotic when the officials at Augusta National decided to move their start times to the morning on Saturday in the late afternoon.  Usually, the last group tees off around 2:30 so when that was changed to 9 AM, we had to go to Plan B on the fly.  We appreciate everyone’s understanding which helped make things go as smoothly as possible.

The event was won by Mike McDonald, who had his own Tiger Woods-like resurgence after suffering a health scare a couple of years ago.  Mike had a great round himself with a 74-net 58, and he was helped by his PGA partner Xander Schauffele who shot a 4 under par 68.

The round of the day at Southers Marsh belonged to Steve O’Brien, who had what was potentially a personal record 65-net 55.  Unfortunately for Steve, Hideki Matsuyama didn’t come through for him and finished at even par, and left Steve one stroke back in a 3 way tie for second.   Steve tied Club Champion Mike Sullivan for low round of the day at 65 gross.  Sully is recovering from his own health scare last fall and it’s great to see him back in action.

Paul Rodrigues and Bill MacNevin (also recovering from a serious accident 2 years ago) also finished tied for second in a very closely contested event.

Full Results (or at least the top 20 to spare some embarrassment)

At long last, Opening Day is around the corner! If you would like to play this weekend, please make a tee time.  The golf course may not be especially green, but it will be dry and ready to go!

Update to the most common question at this time of year – the golf course is still closed.

As of Friday, March 15 we are still under approximately 25% snow cover. Unfortunately, where there is snow, it is surprisingly deep. An additional problem is that the ground is remarkably wet right now.

We are currently tentatively hoping to open on Friday, March 29, but obviously a lot can change between now and then. Trust me, we are anxious to get going!
